Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 11 May 2026

1. Who we are

SixteenCut ("we", "us") is operated by Adam Poulter, a sole trader based in Felixstowe, United Kingdom ("the Seller"). By using SixteenCut you are contracting with the Seller. Contact: support@sixteencut.com.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account or continuing to use SixteenCut you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

3. The service

SixteenCut is a browser-based video editor that auto-tracks subjects, generates AI captions and exports vertical (9:16) videos. Caption generation consumes credits purchased from us; one credit covers roughly one minute of audio.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

5. Accounts

You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and you are responsible for all activity under your account.

6. AI captions — accuracy and responsibility

Captions are produced by a third-party automatic speech-recognition model. They may be inaccurate, omit words, or mis-transcribe names, jargon or accents. You are responsible for reviewing captions before publishing and for ensuring you have rights to the audio you upload. We may filter or refuse to process content that violates these Terms or our captioning provider's policies.

7. Membership, payment, billing, taxes

8. Credits

Credits are a prepaid unit of usage for AI features (e.g. HD Erase, HD Upscale, captions, voiceover). They are not currency, are non-transferable, never expire, and have no cash value. If your account is terminated for breach of these Terms, unused credits may be forfeited.

9. Refunds

See our Refund Policy. Refunds are handled by Paddle on our behalf.

10. Intellectual property

We own the SixteenCut software, brand and documentation. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. You retain all rights in the video content you upload and the captions generated from it; you grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the service to you.

11. Service level

We provide the service "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties (including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose).

12. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special damages including loss of profits, data, goodwill or content. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for: material breach of these Terms; non-payment; security or fraud risk; or repeated or serious violations of our acceptable-use rules. You may stop using the service at any time.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
